Nickelodeon (commonly shortened to Nick) is an American cable channel which was launched on December 1, 1977, as the first cable channel for children.

It is owned by ViacomCBS through its domestic networks division and is based in New York City. It broadcasts usually from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekdays (the sign off time varies with holidays and special programming), Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Sundays from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Eastern and Pacific Time). It is primarily aimed at children and adolescents aged 2–17.

As of February 2020, the channel is available to about 87.167 million households in the United States.

Germany and Austria[]

Nickelodeon Germany and Nickelodeon Austria both aired the German dub of Johnny Test in the year 2007. The first season was dubbed by the Berlin studio Elektrofilm, and the rest of the seasons were dubbed by EuroSync. The change of studio also led to an exchange of voice actors, Tanja Schmitz took over the role of Susan Test. Dialogue was directed by Mario von Jascheroff. It also aired on Nicktoons, a sister channel to Nickelodeon.

France[]

Nickelodeon France aired the French dub of Johnny Test.

Israel[]

Nickelodeon Israel aired season 4 of the Hebrew dub of Johnny Test, with other seasons airing on Arutz Hayeladim and KIDz.

Italy[]

Nickelodeon Italy aired the Italian dub of Johnny Test.

The Netherlands[]

Nickelodeon Netherlands aired the Dutch dub of Johnny Test. It was dubbed by Wim Pel Productions bv. It also aired on Nicktoons, a sister channel to Nickelodeon.

India[]

Nickelodeon Sonic, a sister channel to Nickelodeon aired the Hindi, Tamil and Telugu dubs of Johnny Test as-well as the original English version. It now currently airs on Cartoon Network in this country.

Trivia[]

  • Johnny Test was actually originally pitched to Nickelodeon in 1995, but it was rejected and didn't get picked up until a decade later.
  • In the German dub, only the first season's theme song was dubbed, as the rest of the seasons for the dub reused the season 1's theme song (although the visuals were the same).
  • The Italian dub's intro is left undubbed.
